Case Mason Orioles Game Outing

We’re always trying to come up with different ways to say thank you to our employees for all that they do. Without their dedication and close attention to detail, our company wouldn’t be nearly as successful as we’ve been for the last 44 years. This summer, we wanted to show our appreciation in a different fashion than we normally do. We came up with the idea to shut down our facilities for a half day on June 28 and attend the Orioles vs. Mariners game. Baltimore is a sports town through and through, so we thought it would be great to support our hometown team as a company.

Before the game, we reserved the Orioles Advocates Room on the fourth floor of the B&O Warehouse for a pre-party. The room overlooked the ballpark and gave us a great view of all of the pregame routines and the fans filing into the park.  The O’s catering service provided us with all of the traditional ballpark grub and plenty of adult beverages to get everyone in the mood for some afternoon baseball.

A few minutes before the game started, we all headed down to our seats in left field. With it being an afternoon game in the middle of the work week and the Orioles on pace to have their worst season in club history, there was an abundance of open seats. The temperature hovering around 95 degrees certainly didn’t help attendance either. We lucked out with clouds blocking the sun for the majority of the first five innings, but the clouds broke and that sun became a bit too powerful after another inning or so. Conveniently enough, Camden Yards has a great centerfield bar that offered us complete shade and great views of the action on the diamond. We camped out at the bar for the remainder of the game that was stretched to 10 innings before the Mariners scored two runs in the top of the 10th and then kept the O’s off of the scoreboard in the bottom half of the inning to secure the win.

Although the O’s weren’t able to pull out a W, we still had an awesome time. It was great to see everyone having fun and enjoying the entire experience. The outing marked the first time a few of our employees had attended an O’s game, so it meant that much more to them. We’ll definitely be doing this again in the future, so we hope the O’s can turn it around and become more competitive in the years to come.
