Celebrating 50 Years of Excellence: Case Mason’s Legacy and Future

Since the 1970s, Case Mason has taken an uncompromising approach to quality, turnkey service, and customer satisfaction. As a leader among contract packaging service providers, we offer comprehensive contract filling, packaging, order fulfillment, and third-party logistics (3PL) services to streamline your operations and manage your supply chain. It’s been an honor to serve our customers over the last 50 years, and we look forward to the future as we reflect on how we’ve grown our business over the decades through reliable, efficient services and customer support.

Key Milestones

Successful contract packing professionals Alan Case and Alfred Mason founded Case Mason in 1974 with two goals in mind: providing industry-best service and building long-term relationships with customers. Those core values helped us grow from a family business of 15 employees in Joppa, Maryland, to the turnkey custom manufacturing and packaging contractor we are today.

1970s

Our earliest endeavors were in aerosol filling, primarily for the beauty and personal care market. We handled such products as aftershave, perfume, and even car air fresheners. By 1977, our business had grown sufficiently that we expanded into a facility in east Baltimore to support our aerosol filling operations.

1980s

While beauty and personal care products continued to be our main business focus, we included blister packaging in our expanding list of capabilities in the 1980s. We also acquired an additional Baltimore location to better fulfill the needs of our growing list of clients.

1990s

In 1992, Case Mason came under the full ownership of the Mason family, under whose leadership we continued to expand. We opened a new secondary packaging location in Baltimore’s Rosedale region to provide our clients with optimal promotional and club store packaging support. We also moved our corporate headquarters to 9101 Yellow Brick Road, where we’re located today.

2000s

Rapid growth comes with its share of successes and challenges. Taking on high-volume projects from well-known brands like Starbucks, Crayola, and Unilever — coupled with the decade’s economic downturn — stretched our capabilities and ultimately led to company restructuring so we could come out stronger. We redefined our vision, charting a path forward through our team’s hard work and persistence so that Case Mason could achieve the success we’ve come to experience today.

Today

Half a century later, the Case Mason of today serves well-known clients around the world with trusted and innovative high-volume filling and packaging services. Many of our clients have been with us for more than 30 years, and we’re as committed as ever to providing high-quality solutions to diverse industries. We have a customer-first culture at Case Mason, and that’s enabled us to build strong and lasting relationships with our valued clients.

Company Collaborations

We’re proud to share two of the most memorable client highlights of our last 50 years.

50+ Years of Case Mason and Rosebud Perfume Co.

Case Mason has served as Rosebud Perfume Co.’s filling and packaging partner since the 1970s. This long-term relationship has allowed both companies to grow and innovate together. The health and beauty company turned to us to develop a plan for their distribution network expansion that would allow them to quickly and cost-effectively keep up with increasing demand. In response, we invested in new equipment, transitioning from manual to fully automated processes. This allowed us to best serve Rosebud’s volume requirements and those of many clients since.

We continue to manage the details of Rosebud’s supply chain and production today, providing such services as:

  • Compounding liquid formulas
  • Filling
  • Cooling
  • Capping
  • Packaging
  • Distributing to global retailers

Blister Packaging

With more than 25 years of blister packaging expertise and five decades of multi-industry business experience, our company has partnered with numerous blister and blister card suppliers over the years. When one supplier’s automotive lighting client experienced COVID-related workforce and supply chain challenges coinciding with increased demand for their products, they came to Case Mason for blister packaging. We purchased new equipment to accommodate the company’s capacity needs and, after an initial ramp-up period, produced 4,695,047 blister packs in four months. This collaboration allowed the company to meet its goal of catching up to market demand.
